LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT HAVING A STRUCTURE OF COVERING THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE OF SEAL LINES WITH ORGANIC BLACK MATRICES, SPECIALLY RELATED TO REMOVING SHORT OCCURRENCE OF UPPER/LOWER PLATES BETWEEN A C/F SUBSTRATE AND A TFT SUBSTRATE WHILE SECURING SEAL LINE RELIABILITY

PURPOSE: An LCD element having a structure of covering the inside and the outside of seal lines with organic BMs(Black Matrices) is provided to form organic BMs which cover the inside and the outside of seal lines, thereby preventing short occurrence between upper and lower plates of an LCD panel and preventing foreign substance from permeating into an active portion. CONSTITUTION: A color filter substrate(1a) expresses a natural color as an upper plate of an LCD panel. A TFT substrate(1b) performs an on/off switching function of a voltage applied to a pixel, as a lower plate of the LCD panel. Color patterns(3a-3c) express red, green, and blue colors. The first organic BMs(2a) prevent light from leaking among the color patterns(3a-3c). An active portion is injected by a liquid crystal. Seal lines(8a,8b) unify the color filter substrate(1a) with the TFT substrate(1b). The second organic BMs(2b) cover the inside and the outside of the seal lines(8a,8b) to prevent light from leaking between the active portion and the seal lines(8a,8b).
