For an immunoassay, to detect analytes (11) in a test fluid, a porous carrier strip (10) has an application zone (A) which is wetted by the fluid. An antibody probe (1), with a visible color marking, bonds with the analytes in a start zone (S). A detection antibody (2) is immobilized in a detection zone (D) to bond with the analytes. A control detection substance (3') is immobilized in a control zone (C), at a gap from the start and detection zones. A control start zone (CS) is upstream of the control zone, with a control substance (4) carrying a visible colored marking, which can bond with the control detection substance. It is applied to the porous carrier to be fixed at the control start zone while dry and, when wet, move downstream with the test fluid.
