PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a delicious healthy and useful food and various kinds of products containing a seed or a plant body (leaf, stem and root) of Lonicera caerulea L. PSOLUTION: (a) The seed or the plant body of the Lonicera caerulea L. is harvested, and the harvested seed or plant body is subjected to salt-adding treatment with a salt containing a sodium ion, and pickled with the salt. (b) If necessary, the harvested material such as the plant body as it is, or after being powdered or extracted to provide an extract is subjected to salt-adding and salting treatment with the salt containing the sodium ion. (c) The resultant product is subjected to a means for freezing. As a result, various kinds of products containing the Lonicera caerulea L. are expected to have SOD-like activities, antibacterial activities (derived from linolenic acid (, ) and linoleic acid) and itching-ameliorating effects, and the delicious, colorful or healthy product of the Lonicera caerulea L. is provided as the food.
