PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable automatically select a suitable signature key when one user can use a plurality of electronic signature keys for different purposes.;SOLUTION: An electronic signature providing method in an electronic signature providing apparatus for providing an electronic signature to electronic data has a signature target data input step (SQ2) of inputting data of an electronic signature target; a signature key presentation requesting step (SQ8) of requesting to present the attributes information of one or more signature keys; a signature key attributes information selecting step (SQ11) of selecting the attributes information of one signature key from among the attributes information of the one or more signature keys presented in response to the request in the signature key presentation requesting step; a signature data creation requesting step (SQ12) for requesting to create signature data using the electronic data inputted in the signature target data input step, and a signature key corresponding to the attributes information of the signature key selected in the signature key attributes information selecting step; and a signature data storing step (SQ17) of storing the signature data created in response to the request, in the signature data creation requesting step, or a signature file created on the basis of the signature data, in a storing means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
