The invention concerns a latent heat storage material inthe form of a composite material consisting of a phase-changematerial to store latent heat and graphite flakesincorporated within it to improve the thermalconductivity. The graphite flakes are characterised bya high aspect ratio and a high anisotropy of thermalconductivity. The volume content of graphite flakes inthe latent heat storage material according to theinvention is between 10 and 40 %. The compositematerial can be obtained by mixing the components orinfiltrating a bed containing graphite flakes with aliquid phase-change material. The graphite flakes arepreferably aligned during mixing with the phase-changematerial by shaking or tamping, etc., so that thethermal conductivity in the direction that is favourablefor the individual application is maximised.
