The wick applicator (1) for a capillary hair colorant has a tank (2) for the colorant and an applicator head (8) with an application zone (6) connected to a wick and isolated from the remainder of the hair. A passage connects the tank to the applicator head during movement of the latter to supply the colorant. The wick has a flexible sleeve (10) to partially cover the length of the wick.
