METHOD OF SUPPRESSING DISPLAYING OF INVALID DATA REGION IN IRREVERSIBLE COMPRESSION IMAGE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of suppressing displaying of an invalid data region capable of making compression noises inconspicuous even if such image data that comprises an invalid data region in non-compressed state is compressed in an irreversible manner. PSOLUTION: The invalid data region display suppressing method displays such image which comprises a valid data region and an invalid data region and is compressed in irreversible manner. The image comprising the valid data region and invalid data region is attached with a band information in which a valid data region is assumed as non-transparent and an invalid data region is assumed as transparent. Then, the image attached with the band information is compressed in irreversible manner. The image having been compressed in irreversible manner is displayed by using the band information as non-transparency. By using the band information as non-transparency, displaying of invalid data region is suppressed, and the compression noises are not conspicuous even after irreversible compression.
