METHOD FOR INDUCING AND MASS-PRODUCING HAIRY ROOT BY BIOREACTOR

A method for mass-producing hairy root of Taxus cuspidata is provided to supply the hairy root for producing taxol and a taxane derivative used as an anti-cancer agent and be able to be applied to produce other plants used as a raw material of medicines. The method comprises the steps of: (a) transfecting Agrobacterium rhizogenes into seedling of Taxus cuspidata to induce hairy root which is transformed; and (b) liquid-culturing the hair root in a bioreactor to mass-produce it. The effective ingredient comprises taxol and a taxane derivative extracted from the hairy root of the Taxus cuspidata.
