The package has a cover (3) closely surrounding a packing object (2), and an impact-absorbing padding. The padding is transferable from a compact, inactive condition into an impact-absorbing, active condition. Acceleration sensor (6) and distance- and velocity sensor (7) for detection of packing parameters and an activating unit (5) of the padding are provided during detection of a critical value of the packing parameter.
