Testing rotation symmetrical workpiece surface involves turning workpiece immersed in liquid, testing for deviations from surface geometry and for faults extending from surface to interior with first and second transmitter/receivers
The method involves turning the workpiece (1) immersed in liquid about a rotation axis (R), testing for deviations from a geometry of the surface (2) of the workpiece with a first ultrasonic transmitter/receiver (5) directed at the surface and testing for faults (4) extending from the surface to the interior of the workpiece with at least one second ultrasonic transmitter/receiver (6). The ultrasonic transmitter/receivers are mounted on a carriage moved along the surface parallel to the rotation axis. An independent claim is also included for a device for testing the surface of a rotation symmetrical workpiece.
