The method involves determining a volume in fluid (5) contained in a basin, where the volume has a value defined based on presumed fluidic load loss from a pore space. The volume is communicated with a part (15) of the pore space and with the fluid under a fluidic load loss which is equal to the presumed fluidic load loss. A pressure gradient between the pressure of the fluid contained in the basin and the pressure contained in the volume is determined. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting leakage of water in a pore space between two consecutive walls of a basin.
