Disclosed are: a diesel engine fuel system utilizing an edible oil waste or a plant oil, which has an extremely simple constitution, which is inexpensive, which can be applied to a diesel engine automobile or the like, and which can utilize an edible oil waste or a plant oil; a filtering apparatus; a utilization method; and a fuel diesel engine automobile. A first filtering apparatus is provided, which is equipped with a filter element having a mesh size of not less than 0.01 µm and less than 50 µm for filtering an edible oil waste or a plant oil. A fuel-filtering apparatus is provided, which is adapted to be supplied with the edible oil waste or the plant oil that has been filtered through the first filtering apparatus, which is connected to an engine body, and which is equipped with a filter element having a mesh size of 50 to 500 µm. An edible oil waste or a plant oil is filtered through the first filtering apparatus, and the filtered edible oil waste or plant oil is then passed through the fuel-filtering apparatus. In this manner, an edible oil waste or a plant oil can be used as a stable diesel fuel.
