The invention relates to area of power engineering, in particular to power systems of alternating electric currents, that includes nuclear power plants with reactors WMR-1000. Method for primary control of frequency of alternating current makes it possible to support working steam pressure in main steam collector of second contour due to control of power of reactor installation by means of system of automated control of power of reactor that is adjusted to operation with insensitivity zone of steam pressure in main steam collector of second contour within ±(0,20(0,25) MPa, this provides change of power of reactor installation due to self-control with negative back coupling between power of reactor unit and temperature of heat carrier of fisrt contour, and at steam pressure in main steam collector of second contour out of the insensitivity zone mentioned ±(0,20(0,25) MPa control of power of reactor unit is performed due to displacement of rods of control and protection of reactor unit system.
