A method for preparing an emulsion type multi-color paint composition for forming a granite pattern is provided to regular formation of particles with a predetermined size, thereby realizing a high-quality granite pattern with various colors, and to obtain a coating film having eco-friendly characteristics, and good shelf stability and workability. A method for preparing an emulsion type multi-color paint composition for forming a granite pattern comprises the steps of: mixing 70-95 parts by weight(pbw) of water, 0.1-3.0 pbw of a cellulose-based thickener, 0.1-3.0 pbw of an alginate-based thickener, 0.1-10.0 pbw of a synthetic silica-based thickener, 0.5-10.0 pbw of a freezing stabilizer, 0.1-5.0 pbw of a binder, 0.1-3.0 pbw of a preservative, 0.1-5.0 pbw of an anti-bacterial agent and 0.1-3.0 pbw of a defoaming agent to form an aqueous sol; mixing 40-60 pbw of an aqueous emulsion resin selected from an acrylic, urethane and silicone emulsions, 5-20 pbw of water, 0.1-5.0 pbw of a bentonite-based thickener, 0.1-5.0 pbw of a cellulose-based thickener, 0.1-5.0 pbw of an acrylic thickener, 0.1-10.0 pbw of a synthetic silica- based thickener, 0.1-2.0 pbw of a dispersant, 0.1-2.0 pbw of a defoaming agent, 0.1-2.0 pbw of a preservative, 0.1-2.0 pbw of an antibacterial agent, 0.5-5.0 pbw of a polar solvent, 0.5-5.0 pbw of a freezing stabilizer, 0.2-5.0 pbw of a film-forming cosolvent, 0.5-10 pbw of a coloring pigment and 1.0-40 pbw of an extender pigment selected from calcium carbonate, barium sulfonate and talc to form a coloring agent; mixing the aqueous sol with the coloring agent to provide an emulsified aqueous sol having a pattern with a regular diameter as an outer phase; mixing 40-70 pbw of water, 20-45 pbw of an aqueous emulsion selected from an acrylic, urethane and silicone emulsions, 0.1-3.0 pbw of a cellulose-based thickener, 0.1-4.0 pbw of an acrylic thickener, 0.5-10.0 pbw of a freezing stabilizer, 0.2-5.0 pbw of a film forming cosolvent, 0.1-3.0 parts by weight of a preservative, 0.1-3.0 pbw of a defoaming agent, 0.1-5.0 pbw of an antibacterial agent, 2.0-20 pbw of an extender pigment selected from calcium carbonate, barium sulfate and talc and 0.5-10.0 pbw of a coloring pigment to provide an aqueous gel as an inner phase; and dispersing the aqueous gel as an inner phase into the emulsified aqueous sol as an outer phase.
