Dry sump internal combustion engine for motor vehicle, has lower oil sump defining reserve chamber that comprises lower cover placed opposite to base wall of lower oil sump such that base wall forms part of upper wall of reserve chamber
The engine (1) has an upper cylindrical case (20) surrounding cylinder barrels (21), whose axes are oriented horizontally. A lower oil sump (30) defines a crank chamber (37) and a reserve chamber (43), and comprises a base wall (31) for receiving lubrication liquid e.g. oil, from a lubrication circuit. The reserve chamber has a lower cover (40), in the form of a plate, placed opposite to the base wall such that the base wall forms a part of an upper wall of the reserve chamber. A back stop device (38) is associated to orifices (34) of the base wall.
