Oxidizing gas mass flow rate evaluating method for power train of motor vehicle, involves measuring pressures and engine speed, and applying formula with parameters such as pressures, gas mass flow rate, speed and constant co-efficients
The method involves measuring instantaneous and reigning pressures (P-EA, P-SA) from an input side, respectively in air inlet and outlet ports (EA, SA) of a pressure wave turbocompressor (2) using pressure sensors (5, 6). Rotational speed of an internal combustion engine (1) of the compressor is measured using a speed sensor (7). A formula with parameters such as pressures, mass flow rate of oxidizing gas, engine's rotation speed and a, b and c, is applied, where a, b and c are constant co-efficients which depend on characteristics of an assembly constituted by the engine and the compressor. An independent claim is also included for a method of controlling and managing a power train.
