The method involves positioning an object relative to another object based on parameters of a parametric model associated with the objects, and displaying a digital model of the former object based on the parametric model associated with the former object and on the positioning. A parametric model comprising a constraint modeling is selected, and a data connected to the position of one of the objects is acquired for the parametric model comprising the constraint modeling. The constraint is evaluated based on the data for the parametric model comprising the constraint modeling. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for assisting positioning of a three-dimensional object relative to another object (2) a computer program comprising instructions to perform a method for assisting positioning of a three-dimensional object.
