PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcomputer housing a control register deciding input/output attributes and a register selecting peripheral functions, and controlling the registers to prevent erroneous write by an operation mode control circuit, and to provide a control system configured of the microcomputer and a watchdog.;SOLUTION: The microcomputer comprises: a central processing unit; an input/output register setting a plurality of peripheral functions, input/output I/O, and output data, an operation mode control circuit having the input/output control register deciding the input/output attributes, the periphery selection register selecting the peripheral functions, and writing inhibit circuit preventing the periphery selection register or the input/output control register from being rewritten by a setting method except the specified setting method; and a selector selecting one of the output from the peripheral functions or the output from the input/output control register.
