PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismometer with its detected horizontal two components X and Y of acceleration made easily to coincide with north-south directions or east-west directions at an installation site, or with correction information transmitted for making the detected two components X and Y to coincide with north-south directions or east-west direction even if the directions become noncoincident at the time of installation or after the installation, or with acceleration corrected based on the correction information, and to provide a seismometer unit, an earthquake data collector, a seismometer installation method, and an earthquake information correcting method.;SOLUTION: This seismometer 10-1 has X-axis and Y-axis acceleration sensors 40 and 42 for severally detecting accelerations in directions paralleling X and Y axes making a right angle with each other in a two-dimensional plane, and at least one geomagnetic sensor 52 with its sensitivity direction set in a first direction, assuming that the first direction is a direction coinciding with the Y axis or a direction with its crossing angle with the Y axis already known.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
