PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide activated carbon which is recyclable and excellent in adsorption capability by preventing the lowering in adsorption capability due to the acidification of the activated carbon in adsorbing or desorbing gaseous methylene chloride gasified with the activated carbon. PSOLUTION: After activated carbon is caused to adsorb a mixed gas comprising isopropyl alcohol and methylene chloride, the adsorbed mixed gas is desorbed by a carrier gas of 150C to give an isopropyl alcohol-treated activated carbon with isopropyl alcohol adsorbed thereto in a content of about 2-3%. Thus obtained isopropyl alcohol-treated activated carbon is used for conducting an adsorption/desorption treatment for methylene chloride. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
