Process for determining the electrochemical behaviour of an electrode material and for measuring the interfacial potential drop and apparatus for ohmic heating

The electrochemical behavior of an electrode (1) is determined by placing it in a cell (4) of corrosive saline solution with a reference electrode (2) and a counter electrode (3). The electrodes are connected to a potentiostat (5) which applies a variable potential to the electrodes. The drop in potential across the electrodes is measured (7). Independent claims are given for the use of the device to measure the interface potential between the electrode and solution in ohmic heating conditions, and for the use of Dimension Stable Anode electrodes (DSA).
