The method involves conducting a call using a mobile telephone (4) after occurrence of coupling over a hand-free set (2). A password is entered for coupling the hand-free set with the mobile telephone. The password is derived from a display (3) of a motor vehicle (1). The hand-free set is coupled with the mobile telephone using a wireless interface (5) or bluetooth. The password is derived from a part of an alpha-numeric information, which is displayed by the motor vehicle independent of the coupling, where the alpha-numeric information is a kilometer reading (6) of the motor vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a hand-free set for a motor vehicle.
