The base (10) has an inner frame (14) tiltably carried by a fixed outer frame (12) of the base. The inner frame is carried with movement components running in a longitudinal direction of the base adjustably by the outer frame. A coupling unit (28) couples the adjustment movement of the inner frame and the pivoting of the inner frame. A pivot axle (64) of the inner frame is carried by a pivot axle carrier (38) i.e. guide, which runs on the outer frame runs or guided at the outer frame. The pivot axle carrier is adjustable with the components perpendicular to a main couch surface (32).
