The method involves measuring concentration of gas component e.g. oxygen, in untreated gas i.e. wet gas, by a measuring cell (29), and measuring concentration of gas component in dried gas by a measuring cell (34), where the cells are arranged in a flue gas channel (21). Moisture content of the gas is determined from the both measured concentrations of gas components by evaluation circuits i.e. computer. Partial flow of the gas is branched off from the channel and dried outside the channel. The dried gas is fed adjacent the cell (34) inside the gas channel. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining moisture content of gas passing through a gas channel.
