METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A SEISMIC WAVE SPEED MODEL BASED ON INFORMATION RECORDED AT WELLS

- Method for defining the operating conditions of a hydrocarbon deposit by updating a velocity model using log data. - A first deep seismic image representative of the deposit is established, to the means of seismic data and a velocity model. A set of log data is acquired at the well level. Differences between depths of seismic reflectors, observed on the first seismic image at depth, and depths of these same reflectors, identified at the wells, are measured. The speed model is modified to minimize these errors, using a kinematic inversion technique before summation to take into account constraints. A new depth seismic image is deduced, from which the operating conditions of the hydrocarbon deposit are determined. Application to the exploitation of hydrocarbon deposits.
