PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate slagging property and melting property of the base powder of a mold powder when sieving the mold powder with each of sieves, which has an opening (a) and an opening (b) respectively.;SOLUTION: The mold powder is sieved with each of sieves, which has an opening (a) and an opening (b) respectively, and the plus-sieves of the mold powder are designated respectively as slagging rates (%), RSL, a and RSL, b. The difference between RSL, a and RSL, b is represented by ΔRSL, and the slagging property and the melting property of the base powder of the mold powder is evaluated from ΔRSL and RSL, a. In this case, RSL, a, RSL, b, and ΔRSL are expressed respectively by expressions: (1) RSL, a=100(mβ+mγ)/(mα+mβ+mγ); (2) RSL, b=100mγ/(mα+mβ+mγ); and (3) ΔRSL=RSL, a-RSL, b=100mγ/(mα+mβ+mγ), wherein, the distribution ranges of the particle diameters of the mold powder are represented by α in which the particle diameters are less than (a), β in which the particle diameters are (a) or more and (b) or less, and γ in which the particle diameters are more than (b).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
