PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an approaching object detection device, approaching object detection program and approaching object detecting method for improving accuracy in detecting an approaching object.;SOLUTION: The approaching object detection device for detecting the approaching object has an image acquiring part for acquiring a captured first image and a second image captured prior to the first image, a retrieving part for retrieving a first point in the first image corresponding to a second point in the second image on the basis of the first image and the second image acquired by the image acquiring part, an optical flow calculating part for calculating optical flow from the second point retrieved by the retrieving part to the first point, and a determining part for determining whether the first point shows the approaching object on the basis of the vertical component of the optical flow from the second point calculated by the optical calculating part to the first point.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
