The present invention relates to a meadow vegetation-based fuel being characterized in that it consists of a mixture containing a basic energy-bearing plant in the form of meadow vegetation containing up to 20 percent by weight of water and being present in the mixture in an amount ranging from 50 to 94 percent by weight and containing from 4 to 20 percent by weight of coal. The mixture further contains from 0 to 25 percent by weight of other combustible admixtures and from 0.01 to 5 percent by weight of incombustible admixtures.
