PURPOSE: A shift control device of an auto transmission is provided to deteriorate gradually instruction fluid pressure following the size of shock in an inertia phase close right area, thereby reducing effectively the generated shock.;CONSTITUTION: A shift controller fastens a second friction fastening element(C2) released in a gear terminal before shift while releasing a first friction fastening component(C1) fastened in the gear terminal before shift to shift to a different gear terminal. In an inertia phase generated during conversion fastening shift, an inertia phase controller deteriorates temporarily instruction fluid pressure to the second friction fastening element when a gear ratio detected while being shifted to a different gear terminal approaches a set gear ratio indicating an inertia phase close right area. Base on the gear ratio detected in each fixed time in the inertia phase close right area, the inertia phase controller sets the deterioration amount of instruction fluid pressure in each time.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
