PURPOSE: Tensile test sample and method for a line pipe are provided to enable a user to perform a very economic tensile test by reducing enormous expense necessary for a full-scale performance test.;CONSTITUTION: A tensile test sample(100) for a line pipe comprises an annular sample(101) and tensile samples(105,106). The annular sample comprises a welding part(30) formed along the circumferential direction. The tensile sample has a certain width with the same curvature as the annular sample. The tensile sample is extended in both longitudinal directions of the annular sample. At the end of the tensile sample, the fixing part of a tensile tester is formed.
