A protein Ry from A golden valley which is specifically expressed by the pathogenic infection is provided to increase the virus resistance of protein. A protein Ry (resistance potato virus Y) from a golden valley which is specifically expressed by pathogenic infection comprises an amino acid sequence of the sequence number 2. The pathogen is PVYO(Potato Virus Y0). A gene encoding the Ry protein contains a sequence of the sequence number 1. A recombinant plant expression vector containing the gene is pBI121::Ry vector.
