The method involves recording a measured image in a plane of a disk (2) and a reference image is recorded in a plane deviating from the plane of the disk. The reference image is searched in the measured image by an image pattern correlator as per image pattern of the reference image. An image recording device is used for recording the measured image and the reference image. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for detecting raindrops on a disk; and (2) a computer program product for the execution of a rain drop detecting method.
