The method involves scanning data streams (D1) at preset scanning time points, and determining a scanning value from the data streams. The scanning value is accumulated, and the accumulated scanning value is selected from the values at the scanning time points. The accumulated scanning value is calculated in a position in a transition region (TR) of data. Another position is calculated by the former position, where a valid value is read in the former position. The data streams are managed over parallel signal lines. An independent claim is also included for a device for managing data stream over a signal line.
