The method involves determining a working point for a volume component (V1) according to a component model. Information of a gradient of correlation of two parameters e.g. temperature (T1), to each other, determined by the component model on the working point is calculated. Information of another gradient of correlation of parameters to each other, determined by another component model on another working point is calculated. The latter working point is determined for the volume component according to the former model depending on the latter point and the latter gradient. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for performing a simulation of a dynamic system (2) a computer program comprising a program code for executing a method for performing simulation of a dynamic system.
