The method involves determining state variable representing a change of rotating motion of a vehicle around a vehicle vertical axis, where the change of rotating motion is change in steering angle. A brake pressure (pbr) that is produced by a vehicle assistance system is limited to a lower maximum pressure (pmax) when the state variable representing the change of rotating motion exceeds limit values (Llow, Lhigh). An independent claim is also included for a vehicle assistance system i.e. electronic stability program, in a vehicle comprising a regulator and/or controller for detecting high-frequency steering in a vehicle.
