PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Unryu Japanese paper having adjustable Unryu pattern size and enabling to suppress the formation of an undesirable large block pattern and provide a method for producing the paper.;SOLUTION: The Unryu Japanese paper has a pattern composed mainly of rayon fibers wherein the average of the maximum width of 500 patterns having a maximum width of ≥0.5 mm is 1.0-2.0 mm and the average length is 40-60 mm measured in order along the machine flow direction of the paper. The pattern is formed by conditioning a rayon fiber having a fineness of 1.7-5.6 dtex and a fiber length of 10-30 mm to a water-dispersion concentration of 0.1-0.5% (bone-dry weight), and flocculating the fibers by adding 2.0-7.0 wt.% cationic flocculant and 0.5-4.7 wt.% anionic flocculant on solid basis based on the rayon fiber at a (cationic flocculant)/(anionic flocculant) ratio of (60-80)/(40-20) on solid basis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
