PURPOSE: A high-sensitive surface plasmon resonance sensor, a plasmon resonance sensor chip, and a manufacturing method of the surface plasmon resonance sensor element are provided to improve the sensitivity of the surface plasmon resonance measurement by restricting the reactive part or the junction area of the sample material in the short-range exicitation field region amplified with the local surface plasmon resonanace.;CONSTITUTION: A surface plasmon resonance sensor comprises a prism, a metal thin film(31), a material pattern(33), a mask layer(38), a light source, and a light receiving unit. The metallic foil is arranged on the prism. The material pattern is arranged on the metal thin film. The material pattern generates the exicitation field with the local surface plasmon resonance. A short-range exicitation field region partially amplified with the local surface plasmon resonance to the local is generated in the hot spot. The mask layer partially secludes the material patten and metal thin film in order to expose the hot spot and define an adhesion region of the sample material. The light source offers the incident light flowing in through the prism into the metal thin film.
