The method involves extrapolating an X-ray image on a representation parameter for determining a representation image. A spatial frequency characteristic of the representation image is adjusted to a reference spatial frequency characteristic, where the spatial frequency characteristic of the X-ray image is used as the reference spatial frequency characteristic. A quotient of amplitude of a reference spectrum and a spectrum of the representation image is determined, where the spectrum of the representation image is multiplied with a frequency-dependent factor. An independent claim is also included for an X-ray device comprising a solid-state detector.
