The phantom (1) has a supply unit (7) supplying and discharging fluid to a preserved organ (6) of a dead animal in an open circular flow. The organ is chemically fixed for preservation by application of formaldehyde, Phenoxethol water and ethanol for reproducibly producing temporal concentration gradients of a contrast agent at a location of the organ by using an injection protocol. The supply unit includes an injector (9) i.e. two-piston injector, for applying the contrast agent arranged before a pump (8) i.e. peristaltic pump, in a circular flow direction (10). An independent claim is also included for a method for preserving an organ of a dead animal for use in a perfusion measuring phantom.
