Cosmetic composition comprises at least one polyphenol in combination with at least one sugar, in a medium, where the polyphenol is present at = 5 wt.% expressed in gallic acid equivalent and the sugar is present at a concentration of 2-10 wt.%. Independent claims are included for: (1) use of a fruit and/or vegetable extract comprising at least one polyphenol in combination with at least one sugar, where the polyphenol is present at less than 30 wt.% expressed as gallic acid equivalent, and the sugar is present at 20-85 wt.%, for manufacturing the composition for maintaining and/or fixing keratin fibers, preferably hair; and (2) an agent for fixing and/or maintaining keratin fibers, preferably hair, comprising at least fruit and/or vegetable extract.
