The furniture has four legs (1) connected in pairs by a detachable central crosspiece, where the furniture is made of wood or metal and each leg has square, rectangular, round or oval shape. The legs are joined with respect to one another by a movable central spacer (3) fixed by bolts (3a) to maintain a central post (8) supporting a joint mechanism, at its center. The central post slides inside a sheath (7) supported by the spacer. The joint mechanism is composed of a counterweight that is connected to the central post by a rod.
