PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to reduce the size of a rotary encoder by regularly arraying a plurality of linear materials along an inner wall of a cylindrical member.;SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a cylindrical scale 102 used for a rotary encoder 100 includes: a pattern forming step for regularly providing a plurality of wires 105 (linear materials) extending in a Y-axis direction on a flexible base material 108; and a sticking step for bending the base material 108 with the Y-axis centered in accordance with the curvature of an inner wall of a cylindrical member 104 and sticking the wires 105 on the inner wall.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
