The present invention relates to a method and a device for predicting the development speed of a technology, and comprises: a document database wherein multiple resources are integrated; an attributes set generation module for searching the document database for promising technologies located in a promising technology life cycle to find attribute values of predefined attributes, and using the found attribute values to generate the attribute set for each of the promising technologies; an answer attributes set generation module for finding a shared attribute value between the attributes sets of the promising technologies belonging to the same stage in the promising technology life cycles, and generating an answer attributes set for each of the stages; a stage by year assessment module for searching the document database for a specific technology and obtaining attribute related information on the predefined attributes, using the obtained attribute related information to generate an attributes set by year, after which the attributes set by year and the answer attributes set are compared for the assessment of the stage by year of the specific technology, when the specific technology is inputted; and a development speed prediction module for predicting the development speed of the specific technology by using the assessed stage by year. Therefore, the present invention can assess in which stage the specific technology belongs in the promising technology life cycle, and how fast the specific technology develops, even if the specific technology is not in the promising technology life cycle, by using the multiple document databases.
