Porous solid body made of cellulose phosphate, where the entire surface including the inner surface of the solid body carries covalently bound phosphate groups, is claimed. An independent claim is also included for preparing the porous solid body, comprising: (i) producing cellulose phosphate; (ii) dissolving cellulose phosphate in the presence of a stabilizer; (iii) molding the solution obtained in the step (ii); (iv) regenerating cellulose phosphate; and (v) converting the regenerated cellulose phosphate into the porous solid body.
