The mouse (104) has a radio frequency-identification (RFID)-transmitter/receiver (102) for maintaining patient information from RFID marks (114) of patients. A microprocessor unit (106) processes the maintained patient information. An interface (108) transfers the maintained patient information to a computer (118). The patient information contains diagnostic data produced by a diagnostic device (122), or treatment information produced by a treatment device (123) and patient identification information, or safety access information for the diagnostic device or the treatment device.
