The x-ray source comprises an electron gun unit, which generates an electron beam (3), and corresponds to target (4) generating an x-ray beam (5). A deflection unit (6) is provided, which deflects the electron beam in a predetermined direction. The target of the x-ray beam is delivered in the predetermined direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a radiation therapy device comprises a x-ray source; and (2) a method for irradiation of a moving target volume with a radiation therapy device.
