Oversampled digital signal i.e. split phase-level/phase modulation signal, demodulating method, involves calculating frequency estimation from channel estimation, extracting data, and compensating carrier phase with channel estimation
The method involves multiplying an oversampled digital signal with a carrier replica whose frequency is an estimation of instantaneous frequency of a carrier of the signal, by a mixer (12). The carrier is extracted from a carrier leak by a non-return-to-zero filter (14) synchronized on optimal sample. A channel is estimated by an averager (SIGMA) downstream of the filter. The instantaneous frequency estimation is calculated from the channel estimation by an estimator (24). Data are extracted by a biphase filter (16), and carrier phase is compensated with the channel estimation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a demodulator for demodulating a signal (2) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for implementing a signal demodulating method.
