PURPOSE: A backing assembly for electro gas welding and a welding assisting apparatus including the same are provided to reduce the deterioration of weld materials by efficiently cooling a weld metal part in which high-temperature weld metal is injected.;CONSTITUTION: A backing assembly for electro gas welding comprises backing units(10,20) and a cooling water supply unit(50). The backing units are fixed to the rear side of weld materials and touch a weld metal part to cool the weld metal part with cooling water circulated through internal cooling water passages arranged top and bottom. The cooling water supply unit supplies cooling water to the backing units and cool the cooling water heated by being circulated through the backing units. A back bead forming groove is formed at the front of the backing units to form back beads of the weld metal part.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
