PURPOSE: A flux for removing calcium impurity from molten aluminum or aluminum alloy is provided to not need separate melting treatment by decreasing the melting temperature of the flux to a welding temperature or less. CONSTITUTION: A flux for removing calcium impurity from molten aluminum or aluminum alloy contains 60-100 weight% of the eutectic mixture of a metal chloride which contains a first metal chloride and a second metal chloride. The melting temperature of at least one of the first metal chloride and the second metal chloride is 750 C or more. The melting temperature of the eutectic mixture is 700 C or less. The eutectic mixture is a eutectic mixture of metal chlorides of at least two or more selected from AlCl3, NaCl, KCl, MgCl2, CaCl2, BaCl2 and ZnCl2. The first metal chloride is MgCl2 and the second metal chloride is one or more metal chloride selected from AlCl3, NaCl, KCl, CaCl2, BaCl2 and ZnCl2. The content of the MgCl2 is 10 weight% based on the total weight of the eutectic mixture of the metal chloride.
