The method involves partially controlling system mechanisms (12-18) independent of each other. The system mechanisms are switched between a work mode with higher power requirement and a power saving mode with lower power requirement relative to the higher power requirement. The system mechanisms are temporarily operated in the work mode and in the saving mode. Actual requirement e.g. resource requirement, of the system mechanisms is determined, and the system mechanisms are operated depending on the actual requirement of the mechanisms in the work mode or the saving mode.
